Self-realization is Truth realization. Realization of the ultimate truth or Brahman is possible right here and right now. Right here means in this very life, right now means not in the next life or next world but in this very life.
Anyone sincere and serious in his quest for truth, who has an intense urge to realize the truth, is fit to tread the path of wisdom.
There is no need to study scriptures. There is no need to have a Guru. There is no need to learn Sanskrit. There is no need to indulge in rituals. There is no need to take disksha from Guru or indulge in serving the Guru or pleasing the Guru.
Advaitic realization comes only by getting rid of ignorance through perfect understanding and realization of ‘what is what’.
Thus, moksha is not a result of ritual action (karma marga) or of devotional or bhakti. The rituals and devotionally performed worship to an imaginary God within the illusory world with the illusory identity (you) will not yield any fruit.
That is why Sage Sri, Sankara: ~ VC Let erudite scholars quote all the scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity With the ‘Self’, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the life times of a hundred Brahmas put together (verses-6)
When Sage Sri, Sankara him’Self’ says, Let erudite scholars quote all the scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated~ yet, without the realization of one‘s identity with the ‘Self’, there shall be no liberation for the individual then why you are still indulging what is not needed for ‘Self’-realization. If you are seriously seeking truth, then you have to drop all this to realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.
Sage Sri, Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sri, Sankara, also his commentary on Brihad)
Thus, the above passage proves that all those who wear the sanyasin robes for the sake of bread belong to the religion; they have nothing to do with the ‘Self’-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. There is no need to criticize and condemn the Gurus, yogis, and swamis, because they are needed for the welfare of the ignorant masses in the dualistic world.
Sage Sri Sankara in Viveka Chudamani (2) states that the Knower of the Atman (i.e., a Gnani) "bears no outward mark of a holy man" (Stanza 539).
It means the Gurus, Swamis, and Yogis who identify themselves as holy people are not Gnanis.
When Sage Sri Sankara him’Self’ says a Gnani bears no outward mark of a holy man, then why are you following the religious gurus and yogis who identify themselves as holy people to get ‘Self’-realization. Religious gurus and yogis are meant to serve and guide the ignorant populace. Religious gurus and yogis have nothing to do with the ultimate truth or Brahman.

Ashtavakra Samhita: ~ "The man of knowledge (Gnani), though living like an ordinary man, is contrary to him, and only those like him understand his state.
Upanishads:- Fools dwelling in darkness, but thinking they are wise and erudite, go round and round, by various tortuous paths, like the blind led by the blind. ( (Upanishads Nikilanada - Ch II-5 P-14)
All the Guru Parampara is for the religious people. There is no need for a Guru who wants to tread the path of wisdom.
Even swami Vivekananda was Ramakrishna Paramahansa's disciple. Swami Vivekananda him’Self’ said: ~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher but your own Soul.”
No one can teach anybody. The wisdom is hidden within the world in which you exist. A Gnani can only show the way; that much is the work of a Gnani.
A Gnani only guides the seekers to apply their own reason and realize the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space. When the seeker learns to view and judge and reason the three states based on the Soul, the truth will start unfolding on its own. First, the seeker may find it difficult to use Soulcentric reason, but gradually it will become easy. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
