Mastering the Vedas the Upanishads and mastering the Sanskrit language does not a qualifies one to acquire Self-knowledge.+

Ashtavakra:~There is no wisdom whatsoever in the scriptures-just a collection of words.

The seeker should not bother about finding the meaning of what is written in the scriptures.

Vedas are in the Vedic language which was a high-class language. Rig Veda (excluding chapters II and X) were written before the Christian Era in Vedic language.  Vedic language is not Sanskrit.  It is the same language in which the Zoroastrian Scripture Zend Avesta is written – a form of Persian language.  All the other scriptures of India are written in Sanskrit.  

These include Rig Veda Chapter II and X and the Upanishads, Brahmanas, Puranas, and the Vedanta.  These were written during the Christian Era after the Thomas ministry. 

As the use of this language diminished, it became a tough language for the commoners. The priests, who were supposed to be an expert of this language, translated it into Sanskrit language and manipulated the meanings in time and gradually, all the practices changed.

The truth is not limited to any particular language or religion. Those who are stuck with the idea the truth belongs to a particular religion and language will not be able to grasp the Advaitic wisdom, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space. The truth is universal. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is for the whole of humanity. 

Remember:~

Many people believe by accumulating mastering the knowledge from the Vedas, the Upanishads, and the other scriptures and mastering the Sanskrit language makes one a Gnani.

The scholars who mastered the knowledge of the Vedas the Upanishads and the other scriptures and mastered the Sanskrit language looked upon other people as ignorant or as illiterate. The religious scholars think people who have no knowledge of Vedas, the Upanishads, and the other scriptures and do not know the Sanskrit language are not qualified for higher truth.

Mastering the Vedas the Upanishads and the other scriptures and mastering the Sanskrit language does not a qualifies one to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

These religious scholars immersed in ignorance in various ways, flatter themselves, saying: We have accomplished life's mission. Because these performers of karma do not the Advaitic Gnana owing to their accumulated knowledge they will never be able to cross the ocean of dualistic illusion.

Sage Sankara says ~ “VC~ 58. Loud speech consisting of a shower of words, the skill in expounding the Scriptures, and likewise erudition - these merely bring on a little personal enjoyment to the scholar but are no good for Liberation.

59. The study of the Scriptures is useless so long as the highest Truth is unknown, and it is equally useless when the highest Truth has already been known.

60. The Scriptures consisting of many words are a dense forest that merely causes the mind to ramble. Hence, men of wisdom should earnestly set about knowing the true nature of the Self.

Dattatreya's Song of the Avadhut 1.36-42:~ “Nonduality is taught by some; some others teach duality. They don't understand that the all-pervading Reality is beyond both duality and nonduality.

Mundaka Upanishad:~ “ The Para or Higher knowledge is the knowledge of the Supreme Being while the Apara or Lower Knowledge is that of following sacrificial rites and ceremonies. (1/2/ 1 – 6)

A Gnani may be illiterate in the dualistic world, a scholar as literate, as a well-educated person in the dualistic world. But of what value is the scholar’s knowledge is limited to the form, time, and space but a Gnani even if he is illiterate his knowledge is of the beyond the form, time and space.

Sage Sankara: ~ On Gnani: "The knower of Brahman wears no signs. Gives up the insignia of a monk's life…his signs are not manifest, nor his behavior."

When the knower of Brahman wears no signs ~ it means he does not identify himself as a Guru or a teacher or yogi.

A scholar will go on and on about the immortality of the Soul but when death approaches he will be trembling and weeping and wailing. Scholars, interpretations of sacred texts, the force of religious merit--none of these lead to the realization of that Ultimate Truth or Brahman. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is the knowledge of the immortal Soul, the one and only ‘Self’ of all that exists as an illusion.

All this talk of immortality will crumble into nothingness because he has not known the knowledge of the Soul, which is immortal.

A Gnani knows what he is talking about is not an explanation, what he is talking about is the realization of the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.

A Gnani shares his joy by sharing his wisdom; he is singing the song about the unsung truth. Remember whenever a Gnani speaks about God it is not a belief; he knows it, it is his realization. He is talking out of his realization; hence, he can be of immense help to the whole of humanity.

A Gnani always sees the world in which he exists as the Soul without any division of form, time, and space. And a Gnani watches his own actions as if they were another's. he is never puffed up by the praise or disturbed by blame.

As for Gnani, his individuality is dead. It is merged in the Soul like waves in the ocean A Gnani live in freedom have gone beyond the dualities of life.

A Gnani is not competing with anyone, he alike in success and failure and content with whatever comes to him. He is e free, without Selfish attachments; his attention is fixed in the awareness of the Soul.

A Gnani performs all practical duties of the practical world like others and he helps other seekers to get rid of the ignorance of their true existence. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Religion is not based on truth and it renders no help to find the truth, which is hidden by ignorance.+

Religious Gods are mythical based on blind belief or faith. Mythical Gods are not God in truth.

Religion is based on blind belief whereas spirituality is based on Spirit, the truth, which is the existence itself.

Spiritual truth is universal whereas religious truth is the individualized truth. Religion is based on a dualistic perspective whereas spirituality is based on the nondualistic perspective. Whatever is based on the dualistic perspective egocentric and whatever is based on the nondualistic perspective is soulcentric.

There is no need for any religion. Religion is based on blind faith or blind belief. The belief is not the truth. Religion conditions one to base on the belief. The belief is always based on the false self (ego), within the false experience (waking).

Believing in any religion is a great hurdle in assimilating the truth hidden by ignorance. From the ultimate standpoint, there is no value of any blind belief-based Gods. 

Religion can never make you know God because it propagates the blind belief as God. Only an intense urge to know what God supposed to be in truth can make you realize God.

Whereas Spirituality is based on the Spirit, which is the cause of the world in which we exist.

Religion is the cause of wars, violence, and terrorism.

Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara is pure spirituality nothing to do with religion, a sect, or dualistic-based spirituality.

Until Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom is propagated effectively, many generations will suffer from violence, wars, and terrorism, which is going on in the name of religion and God.

Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom will one day replace all the religion of the world because Advaitic wisdom is the knowledge of God in truth.

Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom bring universal brotherhood and unity in diversity.

There is a need to bifurcate religion from spirituality. People think religion is the stepping stone for Self-realization but it is not so.

Religion is based on ignorance and it keeps the seeker permanently in ignorance by hiding the truth with its mythical beliefs and dogmas and superstition.

Remember:~

Religions, castes, sects, dogmas, creeds, doctrines, and rituals are all hindrances in the path of Truth. The truth is all-pervading and infinite.

Religion is not based on truth it renders no help to find the truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space. Truth belongs does not belong to any religion.

Churches, temples, and mosques are nothing to do with the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space because they are based on belief. To attain the ultimate Truth, the seeker has to get rid of all obstacles by a perfect understanding of ‘what is what’.

Religion is regarded as sacred and real by the common people, by the wise as false, and by the rulers as useful.

Religion belongs to the ignorant populace. Spirituality is higher than religion. People must get prepared to accept the truth, which was hidden by the religion they belong to. The falsity of the religion has to be exposed so that people will be able to realize the Truth of their true existence.

There is no religion higher goal other than Self-realization. Self-realization itself is truth realization. Truth realization itself is God-realization.

Gurus and yogis provide only a superficial understanding of Advaita; it is dry knowledge. One must realize God by realizing the world in which he exists is an illusion created out of the Soul, which is Brahman or God in truth.

The shortest, quickest way to the realization of Truth is through to realize the world in which we exist is nothing but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. There is no second thing that exists other than consciousness, which the ultimate truth or Brahman. Brahman is God or Advaita. :~ Santthosh Kumaar

There is a need to know what is this ‘I’ before indulging in the pursuit of truth.+

‘I’ is not the Soul, the Self. The Soul is the Self. The Soul, the Self is the witness of the 'I'.

Holding the ‘Self’ as 'I' is holding the illusory universe as a reality. There is a need to know what is this ‘I’ before indulging in the pursuit of truth.

First, know what the ‘Self’ supposed to be in actuality. Simply saying ‘I AM without the body is an error because the ‘Self’ is not ‘I’ but the ‘Self’ is the Soul, the witness of the coming and going, of the ‘I’.

Till you hold the ‘Self ‘as the ‘I’ you will never be able to get Self-realization. The ‘I’ hides the Soul, which is the 'Self'.

What is this 'I'?

The 'I’ is ignorance.

The ‘I’ is the duality.

The ‘I’ is the form, time, and space.

The ‘I’ is the universe.

The ‘I’ is the waking.

The ‘I’ is the dream.

The ‘I’ is the illusion.

The ‘I’ is the experience of birth, life, death, and the world.

Remember:~

Without the ‘I’ there is no ignorance.

Without the ‘I’ there is no duality.

Without the ‘I’ there is no form, time, and space.

Without the ‘I’ there is no universe.

Without the ‘I’ there is no waking.

Without the ‘I’ there is no dream.

Without the ‘I’ there is no illusion.

Without the ‘I’ there is no experience of birth, life, death, and the world.

The ‘I’ hides Soul, the Self.

Dualist sages including many sages and thinkers could not distinguish between ‘I’ and 'Self’. They hold the Self as 'I'. Their highest was the Jiva. They are so much attached to the 'I' that they do not want to think that 'I' does not exist. Again they are unable to detach the ‘I’ from the Soul, the real Self.

The dualist Gurus object: - If everything else is false then the statement I am Brahman is itself’ false, but when one says non-duality is false, there must be the awareness, Consciousness, behind the very statement. You will also go, die. One has to rely upon that which is permanent.

The Soul, the Self, which is the witness of the ‘I’ alone is unborn eternal. Anything that one says is a witnessed (waking), but there is the formless witness (consciousness) there before any statement could be made.

They mean the body by “I", but it is the formless witness which is the real 'Self’. Theists dualists did not, or could not analyze further than ‘I’ on this point because they thought the ‘I’ without the body as the ‘Self’

Bhagavad Gita: ~ “You must first see the ‘I’ as illusory before you see others as illusory. ~ CH.2 v.16

WHAT IS THIS ‘I’?

The ‘I’ hides the Soul, the Self. which is present in the form of consciousness.

Dualists Gurus use it and think the ‘I’ without the body is the Self. The seeker has to understand the fact that, the ‘I’ is not the ‘Self', but the Self is the witness of the ‘I’, which comes and goes.

That why in Bhagavad Gita: ~ The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)

That is why Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," if you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, you are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.

The ‘I’ disappears as deep sleep, so what is the use of being attached to it? It is impermanent and illusory.

There is no ‘I’. The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. And the mind is in the form of the universe. And the universe appears as the waking or the dream. The ‘I’ (duality) disappears as deep sleep (nonduality).

Thus, one that appears as ‘I’ is the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness and it disappears as deep sleep is also the consciousness. In deep sleep, the Soul remains in its own awareness. The Soul witnesses the coming and going, of the ‘I’. On the standpoint of the Soul, the witness and witnessed are one, in essence.

The universe is a reality on the base of individuality and the universe is unreal on the base of the Soul, the Self. The seeker gradually will grasp and realize the unreal nature of the universe.

Individuality is illusory because the ‘Self’ is not an individual because the ‘Self’, is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness pervades in everything and everywhere in all the three states. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Do not keep on glorify the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is not within your body. Remember the ‘I’ is the whole universe.+

If you are caught in the grip of the ‘I’ then you will remain permanently in the grip of ignorance. if you hold the Self as ‘I’ you will never be able to cross the dualistic illusion. If you follow the ‘I’ based teaching it is like the blind leading the blind

If you inquire “Who am ‘I’? “The ‘I’ will not disappear. You must know the nature of the ‘I’, which appears and disappears.

The Soul is the witness of the ‘I’ which is permanent and eternal. The Soul is the subject and the ‘I’ is an object.

The ‘I’ hides the Soul. Therefore, the seeker has to realize ‘what is this ‘I’ supposed to be in actuality.

If the Self is not ‘I’ but the Self is the Soul then from the standpoint of the Soul, the innermost Self: ~

Where is the ‘I’

Where is the ego?

Where is the body?

Where is the mind?

Where is the world in which you exist?

Where are the form, time, and space?

Where is the waking experience?

Where is the duality?

Where is void?

They are or have become one with the Soul which is present in the form of the consciousness. The consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman.

The ‘I’ is present only when the mind is present. The mind is present only when the world is present. The world is present only when there is the waking experience.

Deeper self-search reveals the fact that the waking experience is not considered different from the world. The world is not considered different from the mind. The mind is not considered different from the’ I’. This truth has to be assimilated.

The ‘I’ is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. ‘I’ is not the subject. The ‘I’ is an object to the Soul, which is the formless, timeless, and spaceless subject.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the world in which you exist is bound to be an illusion.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then three states, are bound to be an illusion.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the form, time, and space are bound to be an illusion.

If the I’ is an illusion then the individual experience of birth, life, death is bound to be an illusion.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the words and thoughts are bound to be an illusion.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the duality is bound to be an illusion.

The seeker has to make sure what is this ‘I’ supposed to be? The seeker has to make sure the unreal nature of the ‘I’ which comes and goes to realize the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.

That is why Bhagavad Gita: ~ “The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)

The ‘I’ hides the truth of the Soul, the ‘Self’.

People think the ‘I’ without the body is the Self. The seeker has to understand the fact that ‘I’ is not the Self, but the witness of the ‘I’ is the true Self, which is eternal.

That is why Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," If you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.

People are stuck with the reality of the ‘I’, which they take as real because some Gurus have propagated the Self is the ‘I’. is no need to convince such mindsets. The seeker of truth accepts only the truth nothing but the truth.

That is why Sage Sankara says: ~ VC-65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

People refuse to accept anything other than their Gurus words. For them, their Gurus words are the ultimate truth. They do not accept anything else other than their accepted truth. There is no need to convince such a mindset.

Such mindsets are not fit to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. The seekers of truth accept only the truth nothing but the uncontradictable truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

The truth seekers are moving from ignorance to wisdom, from the dualistic illusion to the nondualistic Reality.+

It is necessary to repeat the same truth again and again till it becomes the reality. One needs to constantly reflect on the subject until he gets a firm conviction of what is what.

People need to read and to hear the words of wisdom to think deeply and reach the ultimate end.

By repeated reading and reflecting on my blogs and postings helps the seeker. My blogs and postings are not any types of teaching or theory. It only helps the seeker to remove all the obstacles in the path of truth and reach the ultimate end in lesser time and effort.

Seeker of truth has to constantly reflect on the subject to get a firm conviction of the truth. The seeker has to reflect on the same truth again and again until it becomes a reality. One needs to constantly, reflect on the subject until he gets a firm conviction of what is what.

Sage Sankara's words of wisdom are needed until one gets a firm conviction of ‘what is what. People need to read and hear the words to think deeply and reach the ultimate end.

My blogs and postings help the seeker to remove the mental blockade, which is blocking his realization. And it also helps to dispel all the inborn and the inherited conditioning or samskara from the subconscious.

My blogs and postings will help not only as information to move in the right direction to reach the ultimate end of the understanding. And they also help as subconscious suggestions, which is very much necessary to establish in the non-dualistic reality.

Repeated reading of the posts and blogs assists the seeker to help to focus his attention from (ego) to formless (Soul), which is very much necessary in pursuit of truth. As the conviction of the Soul grows and becomes firm, he will become soulcentric and able to judge the three states on the base of the Soul.

Repeated reading and reflecting on the subject is an effective tool and has an effect on the subconscious which is egocentric. In the beginning, the egocentric subconscious is not receptive to receive new truth because it is conditioned to receive only logical conclusions based on ego.

Seeker of truth has to constantly reflect on the subject to get a firm conviction of the truth. The seeker has to reflect on the same truth again and again until it becomes the reality. One needs to constantly, reflect on the subject until he gets a firm conviction of what is what.

I just write what is revealed from the inner core. My main intention is to divert their attention to the source from where the mind (universe) rises and subsides.

Reading my blogs gradually, they will start assimilation ‘what is truth and what is the untruth. Repeated reading my blogs makes the seeker, Soulcentric, and the inner dialogue will start and clear all the doubts and confusion.

When there are no doubts and confusion, then they have realized the truth that the form, time, and space are one in essence. And that essence is consciousness.

There is no use in wasting time in questioning and arguing same time and effort has to be used to make the seeker more independent and without external spoon-feeding, he can reach the inner core, which is the Soul which is present in the form of consciousness.

The words that mean different things to different people, it is what's behind the words, between the lines that matter. A perfect understanding of ‘what is what' is needed.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is meant for those who are seriously seeking truth. Patience and humility are the main ingredients in the path of truth.

When you realize, you and the world in which you exist are made of the same stuff and that stuff is the consciousness then you will realize you and your world are mere an illusion created out of consciousness.

When this truth is realized the unreal nature of the world in which you exist is exposed. the same way as the unreal nature of the dream was exposed when the waking takes place. thus, the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness alone is real and eternal. Whatever is real and eternal is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

It takes time for the seeker to gain the perfect understanding of ‘what is truth’ and ‘’what is untruth’. It takes time for the Soul, the Self to wake up from the sleep of ignorance, and it takes time for one realizes the truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

There is no proper English word for Atman. Religious people think every individual has a Soul, whereas in Spirituality or Adyathma they hold the Soul is One which is the cause of the universe.+

Many souls' theory is based on the false self and false experience (world). When the whole universe is created out of single stuff is the Soul then whatever the universe contains is also consciousness. Thus, the Soul is one, and in ignorance, the diversity appears as reality.

There are no separate individual Souls. Individuals are many but the Soul is one.

Many Souls theory is a dualistic theory. All the dualistic theories are egocentric.

Egocentric theories are based on ignorance. Ignorance is the cause of experiencing the illusory world as a reality.

The Soul is not an individual because the Soul is present in the form of the consciousness is ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul is the formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The Soul is the cause of the universe which contains the whole of humanity. Thus, limiting the Soul to an individual is erroneous.

Sage Sankara asks his opponents "How do you know there are separate individual Souls? Have you seen the Soul of a man? You can only say that you have seen different bodies. To say more is to misuse language. Therefore, I call you liars unless you give proof, which is impossible.

Remember:~

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman (Soul or Spirit) is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Rig-Veda 1-164-46 and Y.V 32-1 clearly mention that God is “One”.

Taittiriya Upanishad: ~ “The Self in man and in the sun is one. Those who understand this see through the world and go beyond the various sheaths of being to realize the unity of life. 

God exists as the ultimate truth or Brahman. Hence, in the path of wisdom do not use the word, God. It will be misunderstood.

Thus, Brahman, which means the ultimate truth, is the right word.

Just for the communication to indicate the ultimate truth, the word God is used to indicating the God in truth, which is Atman, the Brahman.

The Soul is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth. God is present in the form of consciousness.

God in truth is Self-evident. It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny God in truth because God in truth is the very essence of the one who denies God in truth. God in truth is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions, and proofs.

God in truth is the witness-consciousness that experiences the action, the actor, and the world of separate things. It is like a light that illuminates everything in a theatre, revealing the master of ceremonies, the guests, and the dancers with complete impartiality. Even when they all depart, the light shines to reveal their absence.

God in truth is not tasty and it is a bitter pill to swallow. Religion made its God tasty with its mythical toppings. Every region has created its own myth and propagated its own GOD to the ignorant populace. Religion is the cause of separation of the humanity. Today the humanity is facing wars, violence, terrorism, in the name of religious God and religion.

The word Brahman or Sat has no proper equivalent in English so to indicate ultimate reality or ultimate truth,  the word God in truth is used. God in truth = Brahman. 

BRAHMAN ~The English use of the word real as applied to the material world, whereas we Indians use it as applied to unseen Brahman. Hence many errors have arisen in translations from the Sanskrit.

BRAHMAN~The word Brahman or Sat has no proper equivalent in English. The nearest is ultimate reality or ultimate truth. The west however applies reality to individual objects or to the multiplicity of them all: whereas Advaitins apply it to the non-duality. Brahman is called "That" because it is something not known yet by the seeker.

The Vedas talk about Brahman which refers to the ultimate truth or ultimate reality. Consciousness is the ultimate truth therefore the consciousness is Brahman and Brahman is God in truth.

Vedas do not permit idol worship. All the idols are of the Puranic Gods Priests are referring to the Puranic Brahma as God they are ignorant of the God in Vedas even though they speak of Vedas.

Priests do not understand the meaning of the Brahman, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The scientists and their inventions are based on the physical Self and its experience world as a reality, whereas, the truth lies beyond physical existence.

Until the Scientists discover the truth beyond the form, time, and space, the mystery of the universe will not be unfolded.

Mundaka Upanishad: - The study of the Vedas, linguistics, Rituals, astronomy, and all the arts can be called lower knowledge. The higher is that which leads to Self-realization. The eye cannot see it; the mind cannot grasp it. The deathless Self has neither caste nor race, neither eyes nor ears nor hands nor feet. Sages say this Self is infinite in the great and in the small, everlasting and changeless, the source of life.

The Spirit is the root element of the universe. The Spirit is present in the form of the Soul, the innermost Self. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. From the Spirit, the universe comes into existence. In the Spirit, the universe resides. And into the Spirit, the universe is dissolved.
