The Self is not the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. Limiting the mind or the ‘I’ to the waking entity (you) is the main hurdle in the pursuit of truth.
The seeker of truth must investigate ‘what is the mind?’ to realize the mind ('I’) is not limited to the ego or waking entity, but ‘I’ is the mind.
The mind is present in the form of the universe. The universe appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as the invisible Soul, the Self in deep sleep (nonduality).
When Self is neither the waking entity (ego) nor 'I', then the 'WHO AM I'?-inquiry will not yield the truth.
One cannot get rid of the ‘I’ without realizing what ’ I ’ am in actuality. People identify the ‘I’ as the ego, but a deeper self-search reveals that the ‘I’ is the form, the time, and the space together. Thus, the ‘I’ is not only the form (ego) but also the time and space. When the ‘I’ appears, then the form, the time, and the space appear together.
When the ‘I’ disappears, then the form, the time, and the space disappear together.
One has to get rid of ignorance to get rid of the ‘I’, which is present in the form, time, and space.
The Self is not the ‘I’, but the Self is the formless Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. Consciousness is the substance and the witness of the ‘I’.
When one realizes the Soul is the Self, then he is freed from experiencing the duality as reality.
Ignorance vanishes only when Advaitic wisdom dawns. The Advaitic wisdom dawns only when the waking entity (you) realizes that it itself is not the Self, but the Self is the formless Soul which witnesses the form, time, and space together.
Thus, instead of getting rid of the ‘I’, one has to get rid of the ignorance by acquiring Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
A Gnani sees no separation in form, time, and space because form, time, and space are one in essence. That essence is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
The one who claims himself as Gnani is not a Gnani because he limits the ‘I’ to form alone and never takes the time and space into account.
The I’ is not the Self. The ‘I’ is in the form of the mind. The mind is in the form of the universe. And the universe appears as the waking or the dream and disappears as deep sleep.
The formless substance and witness of the coming and going of the three states is the formless Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
The Soul is the Self. Thus, the form (universe) is made of the formless stuff.
The ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ are mere words. The reality is beyond thoughts and words. The
Words have meaning in duality. Duality exists until the mind exists. The mind exists where there is a division of form, time, and space. If there is no division of form, time, and space, then there is no mind. Words are used as a tool to name individual objects and feelings within the duality.
The words become meaningless when one becomes aware of the formless substance of the mind, which is consciousness.
From the standpoint of our Soul, the Self, the mind is merely an illusion.
If the mind is a mere mirage, then form, time, and space are merely illusions.
If form, time, and space are merely an illusion, then the thoughts and words that arise within the scope of form, time, and space are also part and parcel of that mirage. Thus, b, body, ego, words, thoughts, and whatever the contents of the universe are within the mirage created out of single stuff that is consciousness. Thus, it is necessary to know 'What is the nature of the mind?' and 'What is the substance of the mind?' and 'What is the source of the mind?', to realize that the words are meaningless in the realm of truth.
Deeper Self-search reveals the fact that the ‘I’ is not the Self. The ‘I’ is in the form of the mind. The mind is in the form of the universe. The universe appears as waking or the dream, and disappears as deep sleep. The formless substance and witness of the three states is the formless Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul is the Self. Thus, the form (universe) is made of the formless stuff.
If the Self is the form (you) than the evolution theory holds water.
If the Self is formless (Soul), then all the theories based on form are of no value.
Until one thinks 'I' or I AM' as Self, all these theories cannot transport anyone beyond form, time, and space.
The theory of evolution is based on individuality, whereas the Self pervades everything and everywhere in the universe. Individuality is the reality within the falsehood.
Thus, all the theory based on individuality is bound to be false. Thus, our judgment, reason, and conclusion have to be based on the formless Self, not on the form (I) as Self, to realize that form, time, and space are mere illusions.
From the standpoint of the Soul, the Self t, the evolution is impossible because the Soul, the Self i, is ever formless.
When he recognizes that consciousness is everywhere and in everything, in all the three states, then that very recognition leads to a total dissolution of thnorance and leads to nondual Self-awareness. :~ Samtthosh Santthosh Kumaar
