Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," If you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker.+

On the standpoint of the Soul, there is neither bondage nor liberation. There is but one pure consciousness.
The truth reveals on its own only when the ignorance vanishes. The bondage and liberation are of the dualistic illusion. the dualistic illusion will prevail as a reality until ignorance prevails.
The Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness, is the only reality in which everything exists, to which everything belongs, from which everything has emerged, which is the cause of everything, and which is everything.
Thus, there is a need to realize the Self is not you, but the ‘Self is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The world in which we exist is nothing but consciousness.
When the matter is an illusion created out of the Spirit then Spirit alone is real.
When the object is created out of the Subject then the Subject alone is real.
When the world in which you exist created out of consciousness then the consciousness alone is real.
The reality and unreality are created out of single stuff because of the unreality (the world in which we exist), is experienced as a reality, we are unaware of the reality hidden by the unreality. There is no second thing that exists other than the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
The dualistic illusion or Maya, which is present in the form of the ‘I’, hides the Soul, the Self.
Stick to reality by mentally dropping the unreality.

Remember:~

Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," If you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.

The Self is not the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. By limiting the mind or the ‘I’ to the waking entity (you) is the main hurdle in pursuit of truth. Therefore, the seeker of truth must investigate ‘what is the mind?’ in order to realize the mind ('I') is not limited to ego or waking entity but ‘I’ is the mind.
The mind is present in the form of the universe. And universe appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality).
When Self is neither the waking entity (ego) nor the ‘I’ then the 'WHO AM ‘I’?- inquiry will not yield the full truth because it yields only fallacy of the form, not time and space.
Bhagavad Gita: ~ The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)
The ‘I’ is not permanent. The ‘I’ only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. Whatever comes and goes is an illusion. Thus, it is necessary to hold the ‘I’ as an illusion to realize, we exist in the domain of the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is present in the form of the form, time, and space.
‘I’ is not within the body because the ‘I’ is the whole universe. Thus, all teachings based on ‘I’ as Self will not help to unfold the mystery of the truth beyond the ‘I’. the people who are stuck with ‘I’ based teaching will never be able to realize the truth beyond the form, time, and space.
Self-knowledge or Brahm Gnana or Atma Gnana is required to get rid of the ‘I’, which is ignorance.
The Self is not the ‘I’, but the Self is the Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.
The consciousness is the substance and the witness of the ‘I’. When one realizes the Soul is the innermost Self, then he is freed from experiencing the duality as a reality.
When he recognizes that, consciousness is everywhere and in everything, in all the three states, very recognition leads to the total dissolution of the ignorance and leads to nondual Self-awareness.
The seeker's aim is to find and realize the Self. Self-realization is necessary to attain liberation from the illusory bondage of form, time, and space.
When the ‘Self’ is realized then this ‘I’, you think as reality becomes unreal.
Sages of truth have always insisted on soulcentric Reason rather than egocentric logic. This applies particularly to those who want to know and realize the truth hidden by ignorance. :~
