Many people are struck with awe or reverence at the outer indications of renunciation, and thus, blindly accept a religious Guru or Godmen to be a Gnani. The two have no connection. Because he has no wife, no family, and no possessions" they think a man who has merely repressed these desires as though these things had anything to do with the wisdom he is merely a religious man.
People are quite incompetent to judge who is a Gnani between Godmen, intellectuals, and yogis.
A Gnani is neither Godmen, nor a yogi, nor an intellectual.
The man who speaks about religious God, scriptures, and religion, is not a Gnani.
A yogi who speaks about yoga is not a Gnani.
A Godman who indulges in miracle is not a Gnani.
An intellectual who argues on his own speculated theories is not a Gnani.
A Gnani is the one who shares knowledge and guides people towards the source of the mind (universe) is real Gnani.
A Gnani never claims himself a Guru nor does he accept anyone as his disciple.
Remember:~
Some Gurus and Self-declared Godmen say: "I am God." This presupposes that they have the same miraculous and creative powers of God. They do not, however, display possession of such power. Such is the fallacy of their logic.
The Gurus who declare “I am God or “I am Brahman" is merely repeating like parrot words which they have read in the scriptures or heard. It does not prove that they have realized the ultimate truth or God or Brahman.
With bookish or hearsay knowledge it is unable to prove that everything is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. One has to do lots of homework to realize the Soul, the Self.
A Guru who speaks of knowing Brahman within the body is thinking only of his head or heart, i.e. of his body. He is hallucinating.
Remember:~
All the Advaitic Gurus of the east and the west are based on the dualistic perspective or orthodox perspective. The dualistic knowledge is egocentric knowledge. All egocentric Advaita or nonduality is based on the imagination. All imagined Advaita will not help you to mentally transcend the domain of the illusory form, time and space.

All the ‘I’-centric Gurus and their teachings are dualistic because the ‘I’ itself is duality. Without the ‘I’ there is no duality. Duality is the product of ignorance. All the ‘I’-centric Gurus and their teachings become a hindrance to the realization of the ‘Self’, which is hidden by the ‘I’. Without teasing the ‘I’ is an obstacle Self-realization is an impossibility.

The egocentric knowledge keeps the Soul in the intoxication of the ‘I’. The ‘I’ hides the whole truth. The Gurus and the teachers of the nonduality of the east and west are stuck up with their own accepted truth gathered from here and there and Their egoic attitude blocks than by realizing the Advaita hidden by the Dvaita, which is present in the form of the ‘I’.
Advaita is the nature of the Soul. Advaita is second to none. Advaita is universal wisdom reveals on its own to all the serious and sincere seekers of truth.

The real Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sri, Sankara is soulcentric knowledge. Advaitic wisdom or Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is soulcentric knowledge that destroys ignorance.

Mundaka Upanishad:~The study of the Vedas, linguistics, Rituals, astronomy and all the arts can be called lower knowledge. The higher is that which leads to Self-realization. The eye cannot see it; the mind cannot grasp it. The deathless Self has neither caste nor race, neither eyes nor ears nor hands nor feet. Sages say this Self is infinite in the great and in the small, everlasting and changeless, the source of life.

Advaita is universal. Advaita is not for sale. Do not buy Advaita from the spiritual supermarket. Advaita is the nature of the Soul, the innermost Self. The world in which you exist is created out of single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness. Knowledge of the single stuff is Advaitic wisdom.

Advaitic truth is very simple, but it is very difficult to realize because you have accumulated mental garbage from different sources in the name of Advaita. Until you discard all the accumulated knowledge you will never be able to realize the Advaitic truth, which is beyond the form, time and space.

The Advaita is the nature of the Soul, the Self shines on its own awareness when wisdom dawns.

The Advaita is the Soul is the cause and the support of all that exists as the world in which we exist. Advaita is the nature of God, the Self.

The Advaita is present in the form of consciousness. Advaita is the root element of the universe. From the Advaita, the universe comes into existence. In the Advaita, the universe resides. And into the Advaita, the universe is dissolved. The Advaita is the parent of all that is there is.: ~ Santthosh Kumaar

If you are seeking truth then you should not waste your precious time and fortune by attending to the Satsangha and retreats.+
